How To Deep Clean and Protect Composite Sinks

Composite Sinks: Deep Cleaning and Routine Care

These products and procedures thoroughly clean and protect composite sink surfaces from mineral deposits (calcium, magnesium, lime) and soap scum, while preventing damage from abrasives and harsh chemicals.

Safe and Effective On

  • Quartz/Granite Composite Sinks
  • Blanco, Kraus, Franke, Elkay, and more
  • Black, Brown, Gray, White, Beige, and more

Before starting, understand two key points:

  1. The leading cause of composite sink damage and need for restoration is chemical reactions combined with textured pads or abrasives.
  2. Deep cleaning is rarely needed — proper routine care prevents buildup and makes maintenance easier.

Recommended Product for Deep Cleaning (Step 1 Reset)

Scum & Mineral Deposit Remover (Heavy Duty Gentle Giant) — targeted as-needed pre-cleaner to dissolve bonded contaminants and prep for protection.

Deep Cleaning Instructions

  • Saturate the sink completely and allow to dwell up to 15 minutes at a time, keeping it moist.
  • Agitate lightly with a soft sponge or non-scratch pad.
  • Rinse thoroughly, wipe dry, and inspect for changes (check wet-to-wet and dry-to-dry).
  • Repeat until no noticeable change when fully dry.

*Note: Always test in a small inconspicuous area first and rinse thoroughly after use. If the sink looks good wet but shows whitish haze when dry, proceed to restoration with our full 3-step process (deep clean → restore → protect).

Routine/Weekly Cleaning and Protective Care

Recommended Product (Flagship Protection)

All-In-One Stone Care with ioSeal® (also Granite Quartz & Marble Treatment) — cleans, beautifies, and protects in one step with ionic bonding technology.

ioSeal® lowers surface energy so future mineral deposits and water spots bond less strongly, making cleanings easier and reducing the need for abrasives or harsh chemicals. Surfaces stay vibrant and more manageable long-term.

Routine Care Instructions

  • Spray onto the sink (and countertops) and wipe dry with microfiber or paper towel.
  • Use daily for the first 3–5 days to establish protection (no dwell needed).
  • After initial phase, use weekly or as needed.
  • Routine cleanings become easier with repeated use.
  • Helps protect against future buildup and eliminates textured pads/harsh chemicals.

*Note: Most composite sink brands recommend wiping dry after each use. With ioSeal® protection established, future spots often wipe away more easily, offering greater flexibility.

Great customer service. I saw the video on a weekend, called not expecting anyone would respond, but Tom did.
