ioSeal® — Ionic Resin-Bonding Sealer for Quartz, Composite Sinks & Dense Granite

Does engineered quartz need a sealer? What about composite sinks, dense granite, or porous natural stone? The answer depends on the surface, its condition, and the type of protection being considered.

ioSeal® is Supreme Surface® ionic resin-bonding sealer technology, developed to improve surface protection and performance. Unlike conventional penetrating stone sealers or topical coatings, ioSeal® works with compatible mineral and resin components at the surface level to help smooth microscopic irregularities, improve resistance to contamination, and make ongoing maintenance easier.

ioSeal® is included in Supreme Surface® GUARD: Granite, Quartz & Marble Treatment. GUARD combines routine cleaning with ioSeal® protection, helping surfaces feel smoother, look clearer, and become easier to maintain.

What Is ioSeal®?

ioSeal® is an ionic resin-bonding sealer. It is designed to interact with compatible mineral and resin components at the surface level, helping fill microscopic irregularities without relying solely on absorption into pores or forming a conventional topical film.

Depending on the surface, its finish, and existing condition, benefits may include:

• Smoother surface feel
• Improved clarity and natural color appearance
• More uniform light reflection on compatible finishes
• Greater resistance to certain stains and bonded contamination
• Easier routine cleaning and maintenance

These improvements result from surface-level protection rather than waxes, conventional polishing compounds, or artificial gloss coatings.

ioSeal® is a sealer. It is not a traditional polish, wax, or topical coating.

How Is ioSeal® Different from Traditional Stone Sealers?

Conventional penetrating stone sealers are generally designed for absorbent materials. They rely on access to pores within the stone to provide protection.

However, engineered quartz, many composite sinks, and certain dense granites have relatively low absorption. These surfaces may contain substantial resin content or have mineral structures that limit the effectiveness of conventional penetrating sealers.

ioSeal® approaches protection differently. Its ionic resin-bonding technology is designed to work with compatible surface minerals and resins rather than depending solely on pore penetration.

This distinction is particularly important for engineered quartz and composite sinks, where surface performance may be affected by bonded contamination, mineral deposits, residue, fingerprints, and changes in appearance even when traditional penetrating sealing is unnecessary.

Why Does ioSeal® Sometimes Look Like a Polish?

After treatment with GUARD, some customers notice their surfaces feel smoother, reflect light more evenly, and appear clearer or more vibrant.

These are potential outcomes of improved surface conditions and resin-bonding protection.

ioSeal® does not work by depositing a conventional polish or gloss-producing coating. It does not turn a honed, matte, or suede surface into a high-gloss finish.

Instead, the objective is to improve the performance and maintainability of the surface while respecting its existing finish.

Where Can ioSeal® Be Used?

Engineered Quartz Countertops

Engineered quartz contains mineral particles and polymer resins. Because of its dense structure, it generally does not require conventional penetrating stone sealers.

However, that does not mean every quartz finish is immune to bonded residues, staining, fingerprints, or changes in surface appearance.

ioSeal® is designed to work independently on compatible engineered quartz surfaces, including polished, honed, matte, textured, and suede finishes. Results may vary by manufacturer, finish, and surface condition.

Composite Granite & Quartz Sinks

Composite sinks can develop mineral haze, bonded contamination, dullness, staining, and changes in color appearance over time.

GUARD provides ioSeal® protection as a finishing and maintenance treatment, helping support smoother-feeling surfaces and easier routine care.

When a composite sink has significant buildup, discoloration, or finish deterioration, additional preparation or restoration may be necessary before applying GUARD.

Dense Natural Stone

ioSeal® can provide independent surface-level protection on compatible dense natural stone, including many granites with limited absorption.

Its resin-bonding approach offers a different method of protection from conventional sealers that rely primarily on penetration into the stone.

Porous Natural Stone

Highly absorbent natural stones, including certain limestones, travertines, and other porous materials, may require an appropriate penetrating sealer or enhancer as their primary treatment.

Once suitable primary sealing or enhancement has been established, ioSeal® can provide complementary surface-level protection and support ongoing maintenance.

For porous stone: establish appropriate primary sealing or enhancement first, then use ioSeal® as a complementary protective treatment.

Which Supreme Surface® Product Contains ioSeal®?

GUARD: Granite, Quartz & Marble Treatment is the primary Supreme Surface® Product Solution featuring ioSeal® for countertops, composite sinks, and other compatible surfaces.

GUARD combines cleaning, beautifying, and protective treatment in one product.

ioSeal® is also used in Supreme Surface® Stone Shower Treatment for compatible shower surfaces.

RESET, HEAL, and BARE CLEAN do not contain ioSeal®. Each serves a different purpose within the Supreme Surface® Product Solutions and Care Systems.

The Big-3 combines preparation, ioSeal® protection, and residue-free routine maintenance. RESET is used when compatible surfaces require removal of bonded contamination; GUARD provides protective treatment; and BARE CLEAN supports ongoing cleaning without adding residue.

Composite Sink Restoration System

RESET → HEAL → GUARD

Decontaminate → Restore → Protect

This system addresses composite sink contamination, finish appearance, and protective maintenance in three distinct stages.

1. RESET: Remove mineral deposits, soap scum, grease, and bonded contamination. Where appropriate, surface reconditioning occurs during this preparation stage.
2. HEAL: Treat the composite sink finish to help restore color depth, improve appearance, and address minor surface imperfections.
3. GUARD: Apply ioSeal® resin-bonding protection to support improved surface performance, smoother feel, and easier maintenance.

Other systems, including Quartz Routine Care, may use GUARD with BARE CLEAN without requiring every Product Solution.

How Do You Apply ioSeal®?

For routine countertop and composite sink applications, ioSeal® is delivered through Supreme Surface® GUARD: Granite, Quartz & Marble Treatment.

1. Begin with a clean surface. Remove bonded contamination or mineral deposits first when necessary, using a product and method appropriate for the material.
2. Spray GUARD onto the surface.
3. Buff using a soft cloth or microfiber towel.
4. Depending on surface type and condition, apply for 3–10 days in a row, then weekly or more frequently as needed.

Follow the product label and applicable surface manufacturer guidance. Initial treatment frequency and maintenance needs may vary by material, finish, and condition.
